GIRL TALK Empowerment Day – KIDS

Today at Metro Convention Centre (222 Bremner Blvd) is GIRL TALK Empowerment Day! This is a one-day pep rally for girls ages 11-18+ from all over Southern Ontario that’s meant to empower and inspire them to make their mark on the world! Join 1000+ other girls and take part in a day full of musical performances,  celebrity guests, and motivational talks that focus on themes such as: self-esteem, body image, mental health, leadership, becoming a globally-minded citizen + more. Admission is $16. Event runs from 9AM-2PM.

As part of Canada 150 and The National Ballet of Canada’s 65th anniversary, Mad Hot Ballet honours and celebrates the icons of Canadian dance! Join dance icons Frank Augustyn, Rex Harrington, Evelyn Hart, Karen Kain and Veronica Tennant in a gala celebration in support of The National Ballet of Canada. Artistic Director Karen Kain will present an hour-long performance of short works specially chosen for the occasion, followed by an audience-wide cocktail reception. Tinder Tales – COMEDY

The Specials – CONCERT

Come down to The Danforth Music Hall to see them host some true innovators of the punk era, The Specials! These guys began the British ska revival craze, combining the highly danceable ska and rocksteady beat with punk’s energy and attitude, that took on a more informed political and social stance compared to those who have come before. Dancing in the Park – SOCIAL

Round up your friends and swing down to Edward Gardens (towards the north-west corner) for some Scottish Country Dancing!
